If the workhouse records still exist there will be a register showing amongst other things admissions and discharges. A birth was an admission. The discharge side of the register will show when a person was discharged and the reason for the discharge. Of the dischargee was a child then if you're lucky it will say who she was discharged to and the address. In response to: My grandmother Annie Bennett was born in the Union workhouse Berrington 9th December 1894 her mother was Lucy Bennett Domestic Servant residence Union Workhouse Berrington Salop, how do find out how long Lucy was in the workhouse and what her home address was? Any help appreciated.
