Hello David Looking on FreeBMD http://freebmd.rootsweb.com there is a Marriage in the last quarter of 1847 in the Durham Reg. Dist. Ref: 24 102 which includes the following people:- BELL Martin Durham 24 102 BROWN Ann Durham 24 102 CROWE Robert Durham 24 102 FELLOWS William Durham 24 102 MALLINSON George Durham 24 102 Nicholson Jane Durham 24 102 OLEY Jane Durham &c 24 102 Simpson Ann Durham &c 24 102 The fact that your two names appear with the same reference number doesn't guarantee this is the correct reference but it stands a good chance. I can't see another marriage in your time frame where the reference numbers match up like the above. Mike ________________________________________ In response to: I am looking for assistance into some research that I am doing into our Family Tree. The Great, Great Grandmother of my wife was Anne Simpson. She was born in Dec 1827 and was baptised at St Leonards on 9th Dec 1827 and her father John Simpson, a coalminer, was shown living in Farm Lane. I wonder if she was married at St Leonards sometime between 1845 and 1850 but I can find no trace of this in my researches to date. She married William Fellows who was from Sedgley and he worked as a puddler. We recently visited Dawley and Manislee whilst we were on holiday in Bridgenorth but could find no useful information. We know that she married William Fellows but we are not sure where or when they were married. Anne Fellows (nee Simpson) and William moved to Stockton on Tees prior to 1861 and they had a large Family with lots of Grandchildren, all of which lived at some time in Stockton on Tees. William continued to work as a puddler in the Iron works, as did a lot of his descendants. If you have any further information that may be useful to us we would be most grateful to receive it.
