Hello Hazel Having transcribed our local baptism register for Leaton I found that the names of the God-Parents are listed from 1969 onwards. This was the date when a new register book came into use but unfortunately the date of printing is not included on the flyleaf so I have no idea how long this style of book had been in use. The only thing you can do is look at the original register (or a microfilm of it) for the parish(es) you are interested in and see if the names are included in the entries. Mike _______________________________ In response to: Does anyone know if or how it is possible to obtain the names of godparents of a child? This is just a general query. Would it be noted in Bishops Transcripts or a register? Or would it not be noted at all. I know that there are no names on either my or my husband's Baptismal Certificates (1930's & 1940's). However my son's certificates names all three godparents (1967). Any thoughts gratefully received. Hazel
