I am looking for a marriage of a couple born in Redlake, Ketley, around 1800.  He is Moses BATE and his wife was Rebecca ?.  Their first child was born 1826 and all their children were christened at All Saints Church, Wellington.  As Redlake church was not built I am expecting their wedding also to be at All Saints Church.  I cannot find records online for All Saints Church, neither Archer's software, Ancestry or Find My Past.  Is it possible for me to get this record at all?

Hello

The Wellington All Saints marriages are included in the Shropshire data on Find my Past and include a marriage between Moses BATE and Mary WALLET 19 May 1800.  Could these be the parents of your Moses?

Also on FmP there is a marriage at Wolverhampton St Peter on 1 June 1819 between Moses BATE and Rebecca FISHER.  They are both shown as living in the parish so you will need to do some checking to establish whether this is just a coincidence of names or whether they are in fact your couple.  The distance from Wellington is reasonable.

Thanks Michael.  I have world subcription to Find My Past.  The Census returns 1851 and 1861 says Rebecca was born in Wellington and her name is Rebecca.  Moses's son Joseph married an Emma BATE (I have the marriage certificate) and Emma's Mother was Mary CADMAN.  There are a number of BATE's around Wellington at that time which makes it awkward.  But I will keep working on it.

Moses was born about 1798 and I have found a marriage in 1819 to a Rebecca FISHER in Wolverhampton.  There is a link to Wolverhampton with Moses's Grandson marrying a girl from Wolverhampton at the same church.

Hello

With regard to the marriage at Wolverhampton I am grateful to another member who has brought my attention to the fact that the record states they "were married in this x Chapel" and there is a note in the left margin "x St Johns".

It appears that all three marriages on that page took place at St Johns which apparently was a Chapel of Ease to St Peters until later.

If you look at the free Wolverhampton Registers on line at

you can get some useful information.
