Cornelius BENNETT lived in Shifnal from 1830 to 1880. He was an organist, member of Birmingham Lodges, a Professor of music and music teacher. He lived in High Street and Horse Fair. His father was Choral Vicar in Lichfield for 44 years! Where did he train or did he just call himself 'professor'. Are there any plaques to him or a gravestone? He had lots of talented children who became engineers, doctors, painters, dentists but all moved away I suspect. Did he play in the church? I would like to fill out the bones of this chap and as I cannot get to Shropshire from Somerset, any snippets of information would be gratefully received.
