I have been researching my paternal family history and I discovered this image (apologies for the quality), in my late father's possessions. It comes from a large agricultural building at Westley Farm, just south of Bayston Hill, where he worked. I have also discovered that the farm at that time, was part of the Condover Hall Estate, which was owned by the Smythe-Owen family - possibly the S & O on the stone? The other letters look almost latin or greek? I would appreciate any information others might offer. Thanks in advance. Nigel Mapp.
They appear to be Gothic letters E W - Edward William Smythe Owen of Condover Hall, d 1863?
