Hi to everyone in the forum, I have just joined this morning and am currently researching my mothers family history. I'm very interested in any Hodges that lived in the Oswestry area and would really appreciate any information anyone has on them. Im waiting on the death certificates for a number of family members but since the government put the charges up so high for each certificate, its taking me a little longer to get them for this side of my family tree. Any help would be greatly appreciated, many thanks penny cryer
Hi Penny,
I think you may have to be more specific. In 1911 there were just 4 Hodges. Why are you waiting for death certs? It's births that you want as it shows both parents [if applicable] , possible marriages certs as well. I can access records, then you have to prove they are correct people by sending for the cert, then get parents names, checking censuses for family, each time going back through the years.
If you say just which Hodges that are in your family, then I have access to various records that I can help you with to enable you to get back further. Here are 1911 HODGES OSWESTRY;

Hi Penny, perhaps you could post some more specific information about the Hodges family members you are interested in to give people more to go on? Names of known ancestors with any dates (approximate or otherwise) and places of birth / baptism / marriage / death, and the relationships between those people, would be great, so that the relevant people can be picked out from census, BMD and parish records.
