Morning all, I have been trying to find  an address in Plealey, Pontesford Salop of a Former resident, a George Henry Tomlins who resided at Jaggs's Gutter but without success, so wondering if it still exists? if anyone can help it would be much appreciated,

Regards Colin

Hello Colin

I found a Gazetteer reference to 'Tags Gutter' being 1/2 mile NE of Plealey.  If you look on Google maps there is a road running north east from Plealey to Arscott and the Arscott end of that road is named as Tag's Gutter, so it does still exist.

I presume the difference in spelling is probably down to a transcription error in the source you have looked at.

Hello Colin

I have now had chance to explore this address a bit more.

If you use the postcode SY5 0XT on Google maps and then use the little yellow man to change to Street View you will see properties on both side of the lane. If you then zoom in on the cottage on the north side of the lane and look under the porch you will find the house name plaque 'Tags Cottage'.

The property on the south side of the lane has obviously been modernised so it is difficult to know if it has always been known by the present name.
