I am researching a friends family history. He is related to Richard COOPER who in and around 1861 was the landlord of the above Inn.  I would be grateful if anyone has any stories , newspaper article or history on the said property. I know it is still running as an Inn to the present day.

Thanks,

Paul (Benny)

Hi. A starting point would be “Shrewsbury – a heritage of old inns and taverns” by Derek Row. It may be that a local library has a copy but there is one in the Shropshire Archives in Shrewsbury on the open shelves. The reference is qD 36.8 It is an A4 size book with a yellow cover. You need pages 105-107.
