In 1911, my mother's uncle Charles (Charlie) BENTLEY was living in Boningale, near Albrighton, with his wife Helen (nee Price) and five children. Charlie was later well-known as the road-sweeper of Pattingham. Most of Charlie and Helen's children have been fairly easy to trace, but I have had problems with Blanche (b. 1908) and Lucy (b. 1909). There is a possible marriage for Lucy in 1935 to John CAMPLIN, but I have found no trace of Blanche after the 1911 census.

If any members have come across Blanche or Lucy BENTLEY after 1911, I would be grateful to hear.

More generally, I would be very glad to hear if anyone has come across any branch of the Bentley family in Boningale, Beckbury (esp. 1820s), Burnhill Green (1840-70) or over the border into Patshull or Pattingham (1870s onwards).

Thanks

I've now found a probable marriage for Blanche BENTLEY to Leslie WHITEHEAD in 1927 in Dewsbury and they appear in the 1939 Register living in Gomersal in Yorkshire's 'heavy woollen' district. A long way from Boningale. I'm also fairly sure that Lucy is the one who married John CAMPLIN. So, subject to ordering from GRO to check birth dates, I think Lucy and Blanche have been found.

I'd still be glad to hear from anyone who has come across the BENTLEYs in the times and places mentioned in my original post. I'm also interested in tracing the LEWISes (my mother's maternal line) in Wellington, Muxton, Lilleshall or Sherriffhales around 1900.
