My great x 5 grandparents were married in Eaton Constantine, in the script is says they are of Condover.

Is this usual?

Hello Ruth

The Eaton Constantine register entry reads:-
1732 Jan 8 Married Joshua WIGLEY and Elizabeth HANCOX of ye Parish of Condover.

I am undecided whether this means that they were both from Condover parish or one of them. Unfortunately there are no Banns for such an early date.

This isn't usual because we have a tradition of marriages taking place in the bride's parish and it is probably impossible now to work out why they broke with that tradition.

Ruth,

I am looking at the MARSON (or MARSTON) family in one branch of my tree who are from the Condover area.

I found this marriage in Condover in 1726 that may be linked to the same Wigley family :   Edward MARSON & Elizabeth WIGLEY, married 7 May 1726.
