I wonder if anyone can help me with this brick wall on my husband’s side?

His 3 x Great Grandmother, Elizabeth MICKLEWRIGHT born about 1799, married Evan ELLIS in Shrewsbury  in 1819.  I don’t know who her parents were, but the name MICKLEWRIGHT is from Shropshire.  The family had moved to Cheshire by 1841 and the census shows that she was 40 and born in Scotland. The 1851 and 1861 censuses also give her birth place as Scotland.  (Not very helpful!) One of their children is named Ephraim Austin ELLIS. In 1841, there is an Ephraim AUSTIN, 75 born out of county and his wife Mary AUSTIN age 75, born in Scotland, are living on the same street as Elizabeth and Evan ELLIS.

I found the marriage for Ephraim AUSTIN and Mary in 1823 in Cheshire and Mary’s last name is MICKLEWRIGHT.  So, it’s possible that Mary is a mother or aunt of Elizabeth. However, I have looked on Scotland’s People and can’t find any MICKLEWRIGHT names at all!

I then looked again at MICKLEWRIGHTs in Shrewsbury and found a possibility for parents of Elizabeth: Thomas and Sarah had a son Thomas baptised in 1803 when Thomas senior is shown as being a private in army of reserve; when their son William was baptised in 1808 Thomas is shown as being with the Garrison Battalion.  Is it possible that Thomas could have been stationed in Scotland between 1799 and 1803?

Of course, this doesn’t explain who Mary MICKLEWRIGHT is!
