I am looking for the parent of my 2xgt grandfather William BUTTERS.
On the 1861/71/81 census records he gives his birth place as Cheswardine, the birth dates on these records vary between 1814 and 1819. He married Ann PARROTT in Stockport in 1849, the marriage certificate gives his father as William BUTTERS, a farmer.
On FamilySearch there are two births for William, one to William and Elizabeth baptised 2 Jan 1814 who appears to have died at one month old and was buried 1 Feb 1814. The second is to William and Ann who was baptised 5 Dec 1813.
Does anyone have any information that could confirm that the son of William and Ann is my William?
