Exciting news about the journal editor role

The committee are pleased to announce we have a new Editor.  Karen Hunter has kindly agreed to take on the role for the June 21 journal onwards.

Karen will introduce herself at the next speaker meeting, but in the meantime she writes:

‘I have been a member of SFHS for about 5 years, joining around the time I retired, when I thought I’d have a bit more time to indulge my interest in genealogy and family history. I live in Worcestershire with my links to Shropshire being through my father: his direct ancestors over a number of generations came from the county and he himself grew up in Shrewsbury.

I have previously edited a parish magazine and written and produced a large number of documents, reports and papers during my working life. However editing a journal is a new venture for me. No doubt it will be a learning curve and I hope to reach the standards which Nigel set over the past few years.

However, I will only be able to do this with the help of other members! I look forward to receiving items and articles for inclusion in future editions. Thanks in advance for any contributions - please email them to me at editor @ sfhs.org.uk (remove spaces to use).

If you are a member and have been thinking of submitting an article please do so as soon as possible to help Karen get off to a flying start.

The committee would like to thank Karen for taking on this key role for the Society and wish her well for the future.
