The Scottish civil engineer was County Surveyor for Shropshire at the end of the 18th Century and beginning of the 19th Century. His works in Shropshire included roads, bridges, tollhouses, churches, canals and associated buildings.
After months of preparation, Telford Past & Present finally arrives this coming Saturday 15th September at The Place, Oakengates, Telford, TF2 6EP! A free event organised by Wrekin Local Studies Forum for Telford50; a retrospective of the last 50 years as well as looking into local history in communities across Telford and the surrounding area. It begins at 10.30am at The Place. Come along and share your memories! Refreshments provided by The Forge cafe and for the kids, Retro Shack to take selfies at the event!
