I am trying to find out where in Ireland my 3x Grandparents Peter & Bridget McDonald formally Egan came from.
They moved to Shrewsbury in 1851 following the Irish potato famine. Their marriage certificate 1852 and all census records just state Mayo Ireland. Peters father is also Peter and Bridgets father is Patrick Egan.
They lived in Pipe Passage, Coleham, Shrewsbury all of their lives raising a large family and joined by other McDonald and Egan families presumably relatives. Again their place of birth only states Mayo Ireland. I presume they refer to County Mayo.
Can anyone please help?
