I have located a person by the name of John Richard DALTON/DOLTON who was attested for the Scots Fusilier Guards in Feb 1851. His age was shown as 13years 7 months. This took place at the Bow Street Police Court, Middlesex.
Given his age would there not have to be a parent present to give the child over? Or had we not reached the time of Childrens' rights yet?
Thanks
