I have hit a brick wall trying to find info regarding my 3x grandparents Peter and Catharine ANSLOW.

I believe I have found them in the 1901 census living in Chetwynd Aston, Newport with their 6 children, the eldest Mary is my 2x Grandmother married to George NORTON. George seems to have disappeared in this census.

I think I have found Peter in the 1851 census at 3 months old, son of William and Mary and again in the 1861 aged 10 working as a carters boy 'servant' on a farm. Apart from these details both Peter and Catharine are a mystery. No marriage details, children's births or other census records. They originally came from Bromsted Heath area just over the parish border in Staffs.

Can anyone please help?

Many thanks for marriage info. The fathers names have now confirmed other info I have. Regarding Mary Ann, I don't have any info re her birth. The 1891 census shows her married to George NORTON with a 6 mth old daughter also called Mary Ann but again no info on the babies birth. In 1901 census Mary Ann was living with parents the elusive Peter and Catharine, her children including my Grandfather Arthur were in Newport workhouse and as mentioned previously, George has disappeared only to rejoin family in 1911 census.

The ANSLOWs really are a mystery at present.

Regards

Tony
