Can anyone help me with searching for the burial place of Sara Anne HOLCOMBE, died on 10th January 1945 in Bishops Castle aged 58.

Lived at 1 Church Road,Newcastle  Clun Road

Is she buried in Bishops Castle?

Thanks in advance

The society's MI transcriptions give a negative for that surname:

Hello Jonathan

Can you clarify exactly where she lived.  You mention the following but it is not clear how they relate to each other:-

1 Church Road
Newcastle   [Newcastle on Clun ?]
Clun Road

Did she live at Newcastle on Clun OR Clun OR Bishops Castle?  All these places have their own churches and burial grounds and whilst it appears that there is no known grave stone on her grave a search of the Burial Registers should reveal where she is buried.

The burial registers for Bishops Castle and Newcastle on Clun are at Shropshire Archives in Shrewsbury (you will need a Readers' Ticket for the Newcastle on Clun register) but the Clun register is still in the parish.

Hello Michael, thanks for the reply.

She died at 1 Church Rd, Newcastle, which is north west of the village of clun ( were she was born), I have contacted the Reverend in Clun to check the clun parish register and am waiting for a reply.

I am trying to identify the correct parish were she would have been buried, I still believe the location to be in Clun.

A trip to the archives may provide the answers.

regards,

Jonathan
