Although I’m not conversant with the area, it would appear there is a graveyard at Cardington.
The Monumental Inscriptions for many graveyards have been transcribed by volunteers over the years and copies are available for sale from the Society.
Click on the tab “Shop” above, then “Shropshire FHS Publications Catalogue” then “SFHS Publications Catalogue April 2022 for Website.pdf”
Cardington is listed on page 9 where it says;
” St. Michael - Monumental Inscriptions – [Still in progress but name extracts can be provided]
However, from my own experience, it would be very exceptional to have an inscription still readable from the 1700’s.

You can search the database for any name or part of. A search for Hughes returns 182 results in parishes throughout the county but none for Cardington.
