Hi everyone.

Just joined today. Thank you for allowing me to do so.

Have been a Ancestry.co.uk member for a number of years (on and off) and am getting increasingly frustrated at the last of progress I am making.

I found myself now looking for more personal specialist research.

I live in Peterborough, Cambs. My family came to Peterborough in 1908(ish) looking for work as iron moulders in the new factories that were starting to be established.

One family in particular, the head being Benjamin CURETON (B.1855 Horsehay, Shropshire) apparently walked to Peterborough with his son Joseph before going back to collect his family.

He lost his wife through childbirth in 1893. The daughter Fanny survived but cannot find out what happed to her.

The 1911 census lists him as living in Wolverhampton! (another mystery) but he did arrive in Peterborough after that date and stayed.

Any extra information on Benjamin (or Joseph) is greatly appreciated. I am happy to share any information I have.

Thank you for reading through this. I understand my own research is only interesting to me!

Hi Mark,

Could you let us know excatly what you are looking for. I've just done a quick search on findmypast website and found baptism and marriage of Benjamin, plus some Census records with names of other children that you have not mentioned. His baptism was recorded with surname spelt as CURTON, parents Henry & Hannah.  The 1891 Census indexed under surname of CARETON. Also possible death record in 1933 in Sutton Coldfield for Fanny E. CURETON.

Regards
