An inquiry through the SFHS Enquiry line is asking for info on John Faulkner WOOD, born March 1817, Stanton upon Hine Heath. Married Charlotte Elizabeth JOYCE, eldest daughter of Thomas JOYCE of Whitchurch (the clock maker). John died 1st December 1885 leaving a substantial personal estate. Hi Sue If you go to Clement-Jones Family Tree and look up John F WOOD you will find quite a lot of info on him.
I have them on my family tree but I only go for Joyces so lack any other info.

I know that the Whitchurch Heritage Centre in St Marys St. have an exhibition on Joyce the clockmakers and think that they may be able to help. There is also a potted history of the firm on Wikipedia. Hazel
