Having recently come across a publication of Clun dialect words, it poses the question, Just how many other Linguistic Blocs within the county did we have, and if so where and how many.
Interesting question Luther, to which I have no definite answer but doing a quick "Google" found on Wikipedia that a survey of English Dialects was taken between 1950 and 1961 by Professor Harold Orton, but it only lists the following for Shropshire:-

It'll be interesting to see what areas others come up with.
PS The BBC have a site "How to Spake Shropshire" which has recordings (but I havent listened because my PC Speakers have stopped working
