Hello,
I am looking for Francis (aka) Frank Brown (born Francis but has at times used one or both names)
Born 1890 at Combe Moor, Byton, Herefordshire.
Parents were George and Jane Brown.
Above details are proven.
I am only interested in place of residence on 1911 census and any army records.
I believe he served in the Royal Field Artillery during the 1914/18 war.
Thanks Gulielmus.
Well HMFARGO, what can I say, half my problem solved in such a short time.
Many thanks for your information, I have always used 'Ancestry.Co' for my census look up's, this just goes to show how incomplete this 1911 system of theirs is.
The brother of George is shown on 'Ancestry' as still living in Byton in 1911 I wonder why George, Jane, Francis and Thomas came to be missed?
Once again, many thanks maybe I will also have to look elsewhere for his army records.
By the way Frank/Francis in his youth worked on the land with horses, therefore his connection with Royal Horse Artillery or Royal Field Artillery during 1914/18 war.
Regards Gulielmus.
Hi
Is it possible to email a copy of the 1911 census to you?
I am new to this site

Hi
Here's how to get the 1911 census yourself on Ancestry.
Complicated BUT it works
Open Ancestry
Put in Caroline Brown born 1826 Herefordshire. Then search
When she comes up go to CENSUS & ELECTORAL ROLLS & pick 1911 census heading
She should come straight up.
Her address then is Herefordshire Postal address as COMBE BYTON IN KINSHAM
It SHOULD show her in 1911 census.
At the top it says Page 82 of 123
Change that to PAGE 114 of 123.
Hey presto up comes Frank & family
Page 115 shows the address I mentioned.
Why it only comes up that way??
If you find another way of finding it on Ancestry, do let me know
Enjoy

Where's the logic in having to search like that? I think it was about 12 months ago I posted for Pro's and Con's of the various sites to do look ups, I gathered they were much of a much ness, I therefore paid my subscription to the one I had been using for the past ten or so years, was I right I wonder?
Yes I did ''ENJOY'' many thanks again.
Gulielmus.
Still living in hope someone can come up with his ARMY records.
1911 census George Jane Frank & Thomas Brown
Living Byton
George & Thomas both Road Labourers for Kington Rural District Council
Frank down as Farming Farmer, doesn't say anything else.
I couldn't find it on Ancestry but it's on Find my past. Cost 5 credits.
Cheers HMFARGO
