Good afternoon all, I'm trying to do a bit of family research on my father's house when he was growing up. The only information I have is that it was in Ryton Shropshire and has now been demolished, I think some of the rubble/remains was still on the ground, as my dad took my brother to show him where he used to live.
I am trying to get a photograph of the house before it was knocked down as a surprise for him. The only thing I know is my Dad used to call it Sandy Lane . Any help will be much appreciated

Thanks for that I think it must be the Albrighton one then, all I know my Dad said he grew up in Ryton and he used it call it Sandy Lane. He did used to go to Shifnal school so must be that one. Do you know of any history of Ryton or where I could get it from please.

hope this picture helps a little bit, the house was not far from Ryton Church, the smaller circle on the map shows a gate entrance to the narrow lane and the bigger circle in the trees is where the house used to be.

This picture is taken just before the trees at the top of the lane. The house was down this lane on the right hand side.

Hello Rachel
I was going to suggest you take a look on Google Street View but I can't find a Sandy Lane at Ryton near Shifnal.
There is a Sandy Lane at Albrighton, about 4 miles from Ryton, so I just wonder if this is the place you are looking for. It runs parallel with the railway line so it might be worth asking if this is where your family lived.
Strangely there is a Sandy Lane, Ryton near Condover but I am not aware of any property being demolished there.
