Have you now done away with the list of family names in which members were interested? it was very useful and allowed me to get in touch with members who had common interests.

You have obviously got onto the forum in order to post your message above.
If you mean you wish to start a new topic (thread) then you should click on the heading "Shropshire Family History Discussion" above then you will see a "New Topic" button just above the messages and to the right. Clicking this will allow you to post your message.

The Society are delayed in getting the Member's Interests back on this new web-site until all the problems with the Membership Database are resolved, once they are fixed and the database isn't going to change again we will be able to import the Interests and following that Society Members should be able to update their own listing.
Please bear with us for a couple of weeks (I hope) until it is resolved.
Members Interests Webmaster said back in July that the Membership Database would hopefully be imported in a couple of weeks. I have a number of new names that I'd like to compare with the Member's Interests lists but can't find it on the website - has the database been brought across yet or are there problems?

Apologies to everyone, we have had troubles with updating all the membership renewals on the new web-site and this has meant that no effort has been put into anything else new, we have a list of things we all want to get added but have to wait until membership is sorted as so much depends on it. I would put a projected date but would then feel guilty if we missed another target

The Members' Interest have been available on this site for quite a while. On the blue menu bar near the top of the screen click Online Databases then select Members' Interests from the drop down list.
If you have a surname with various spellings just enter the first few characters to see the alternatives. You don't need to include a wild card (*) character.

The Members Interests certainly hasn't been done away with and new entries are published in the Society Journal each quarter. In making the change from the old web site to the new one some things have been moved over sooner than others. Unfortunately the Members Interests are taking longer than other sections to make the move but they will appear eventually although it is not possible to suggest a time scale at the moment.
