I have ordered 2 birth documents to try and clarify the maiden name of the mother. LDS shows the surname Sumnell, one birth document looks like Sumrands and the other either Sumlans or Sunlans. I cannot find that surname or anything close to it in Shropshire yet the birth is shown as Wellington as well as Hadley in the census records. Can someone help?

Please put some meat on the bone, we then maybe able to help you, without details, dates, places, where you have got your information from etc. otherwise we could be spending our time researching details you already know.
There were certainly Sumna(e)ll's in this area around 1900.
