Hi

I am new to the Association - my reason for joining was to try and find out all I can about the TRANTER family. I live in Lancashire, and Tranter is not a common name here.  I decided to do a one-name study thinking that there can't be many and I have now got 1097 people who were born Tranter in my tree - plus their spouses.

I would be grateful for any help!

Good morning/evening Chris.

I have a Margaret Tranter (born 1790) who married a Benjamin Darrall and lived in Holywell Lane, Dawley, Shropshire in the 1800's The couple had 7 children, one of which is an ancestor of mine. Tranter's were a common family in the Shropshire coalfields in the 19th century.

I live in New Zealand and have spent 40+ years researching the 'Darrall' line.

Regards

Paul Darrall.
