1891 census shows William PRICE born 1852 in West Villie

Married to Sarah Jane PRICE

But I see no information on this village. West  Valley?

Mixture  of  English and Welsh?

Any ideas

Hello Dwight

If you look him up on other census years you will find that 1881 just gives a corrupted version of Shropshire without any specific place but 1901 helpfully gives his place of birth as West Felton, Shropshire which is in the north west of the county near Oswestry.

I suppose the place of birth in the 1891 census could be a corruption of West Felton but it would help if you could find him in the 1861 and 1871 census (before he married) but with such a common name that might not be easy.

Looking at the 1911 census it would appear that William had re-married and was living with his son who presumably completed the census form only putting Shropshire as the birth place of his father but then it appears the census enumerator added Rednal as the actual place.  Rednal is in the NE part of West Felton parish.

This makes more sense and the common thing thru the census is Shropshire. Shropshire, parish of West Felton and village of Rednal

Sarah Jane PRICE is my grandmother but nobody in the family knows that she is named after William PRICE's first wife, Sarah Jane PRICE .

The PRICEs moved to Bolton, Lancashire and lived at 34 Corson Street. With others living on Blindsill Road

tks.
