My wife's family are WYCHERLEYs, and I currently have a problem with a Thomas WYCHERLEY, born before 5 Feb 1679, parents Richard and Jane CHETTOE, baptised 5 Feb 1679. There is also a christening dated the 30th Nov for a christening at Moreton Corbet, parents Richard & Jane

Cany anyone distinguish the parents as being two separate families?

I don't have the answer to your question but do wonder if we're looking for the same Thomas WYCHERLEY? My Thomas was born c1670, married Mary BRADSHAW in Shewsbury in 1700. They had 3 children -  Ignatius and Violetta in Smethcote (baptised at Myddle) and Richard in Albrighton (by Shewsbury), Thomas then became steward to the Earl of Northampton at Compton Wynyates, Warwickshire and had 3 children at Compton Wynyates with his second wife Alice. Many trees on Ancestry have "my" Thomas as the s/o Richard WYCHERLEY and Jane CHETTOE but I'm not convinced as this Thomas was baptised in 1679 whereas acccording to Thomas's MI at Compton Wynyates he was born c1670. Are we researching the same Thomas WYCHERLEY?
